HCA Medical Center at Trinity

The HCA Medical Center at Trinity hosted a VIP reception on Thursday November 17, 2011 which included guided tours showcasing the state-of-the-art new equipment and improvements at the new facility. All county commissioners and the county administrator were present, as well as senior HCA staff, local business people and many of the hospital’s designers. The main hospital was designed by Earl Swensson & Associates Architects, and the medical office building was designed by local Rojo Architects. Florida Design Consultants were the civil engineers and Lend Lease managed the construction of the hospital.

Sun Toyota Automobile Dealership, Holiday, Florida (2011)

This project is attempting Gold certification through the LEED for New Construction version 2.2 online process. It has completed the design appeal review and is currently in the construction application period of review. Construction of this $8.5 million dollor project was completed in late 2011.

FDC worked directly for Sun Toyota, with close coordination with Robert Reid Wedding Architects, and the project has earned to date 21 Design credits and is attempting 14 Construction credits. As Civil Engineer, FDC was responsible for the following credits:

Sustainable Sites (SS) Credit 4.3 : Alternative Transportation : Low Emitting & Fuel Efficient Vehicles
SS Credit 4.4 : Alternative Transportation : Parking Capacity
SS Credit 5.2 : Site Development: Maximize Open Space
SS Credit 6.1 : Stormwater Management: Quantity Control
SS Credit 6.2 : Stormwater Management: Quality Control

Pasco High School EEE, Hudson, Florida (2011)

This project achieved LEED Certified status on November 9, 2011, through the LEED for Schools 2.0 online process. FDC worked directly for Harvard Jolly on this Pasco School Board project, and it earned 21 Design credits and 13 Construction credits. As Civil Engineer, FDC was responsible for and earned all of its points for the following credits:

SS Prereq 2: Environmental Site Assessment
SS Credit 5.2 : Site Development: Maximize Open Space

FDC now offers Landscape Arcitecture

Florida Design Consultants announces the addition of Landscape Architecture to our existing client services. FDC has offered landscape architecture in the past, but discontinued it during the economic downturn. As we are seeing the upturn, FDC has been receptive to client requests to re-instate this valuable service.

Little Road (CR 1) an HCA Project

To provide the widening of the existing four lane divided roadway to be a six lane divided roadway. To provide for signal modifications at the intersection of Little Road and Mercy Way. This project is located on Little Road from just south of SR 54 to just south of Mercy Way and is approximately 2,600 linear feet.

Pasco Economic Development Council Nomination

Florida Design Consultants were nominated earlier this year for a Pasco Economic Development Council Best Service/Distribution Company for 2011. The nomination recognizes FDC as a leader in Pasco County for job creation, capital investment and involvement in civic and community activities. Specifically, FDC’s expansion into new markets by innovating web-based GIS technology was highlighted. The awards banquet is Wednesday, September 7, 2011. Florida Design Consultants was a past winner in 2004.
